How is leather allergy? Have you ever noticed your baby?

You might never hear the word “leather allergy” before, but it is so close to us; this allergy causes from a chemical named “Dimethyl Fumarate” (DMF).

DMF has already been banned in European countries because it might affect consumers’ health; this chemical is mixed up with most of PVC home furniture because it is a protector from fungus.

Some mothers might be unaware and choose some PVC materials that contain over standard of DMF; this can cause baby’s skin and eyes irritation. Since baby’s skin is thin and easier to get an irritation; also, it tends to have high allergy in someone. Therefore, we have to especially be careful of his safety.

HOYO passed international standard about toy for 2 standards as EN71 part 3 and ASTM F963

European Union (E.U.) has been announced a rule of safety of any toys which is known by worldwide toy’s producers as EN-71 or Safety of Toy. EN-71 has EN 71 part 3 as a standard to control the highest limitation of leaking (Migration Limit) for Heavy Metal in any toys by concerning from kids’ behavior which included suck, lick, swallow, or touch. As in The United State which has a standard to examine ASTM F963 for the US imported kid’s product or toys; this standard has been adapted to utilize in many countries including Thailand (TIS 685-2540)

The reason that HOYO is examined by both standard is to ensure that our product is completely safe for both parents and baby.

What is BPA? Let’s study about BPA!

Bisphenol A, as known as BPA, is often found in product made from plastic or PVC leather; however, BPA can get into human body if it meets a heat or exposes to the sun for long period by touching, breathing, biting, or licking.

What is the effect of BPA?

According to many studies a few of BPA affects the following;

  • Cancer
  • Premature
  • Obesity
  • Diabetes Mellitus
  • Hyperactivity Disorder
  • Heart Disease
  • Liver Disease

Also, it can affect growth of fetus in pregnancy; the fetus may have a symptom of down syndrome. Moreover, mothers might be able to miscarry.

The most important thing is baby will get worst than adult if BPA get into body which affect growth hormone, memory, and learning; thus, European Commission has agreed on appropriate and safe quantity of BPA for human to be 0.05 mg / 1 kg weight / day.

We recommend everyone to safely choose plastic product by recognizing from a sign of “BPA FREE”

Thus, products with a sign of “BPA FREE” should be selected if plastic products, as milk bottles or toys, are needed; BPA FREE means products without BPA contained.
